EQUITY: The work of our generation is to finally put an end to racism.
Minnesota’s attorney general and prosecutor Keith Ellison thanked his team of "all Michael Jordans" - who worked tirelessly and collaborated in pursuit of a common goal. Derek Chauvin was convicted of the murder of George Floyd on April 20, 2021.
Ellison called witnesses the “bouquet of humanity” because they tried to stop Chauvin from murdering Floyd, recorded the crime, and testified in court. His most important remarks were of the road ahead:
“The work of our generation is to put an end to the vestiges of Jim Crow and the centuries of trauma and finally put an end to racism. We can end it. It doesn’t have to be with us. We can decide now to have true liberty and justice for all."
ETHICS: I’m in a police union that holds bad cops accountable (Video)
How to heal the "Us" vs. "Them" divide?
What do you do if you support "Black Lives Matter" and "Blue Lives Matter"? Cheryl E. Orange is a police lieutenant with the St. Louis Police Department, who identifies with both groups. She's a longtime member of the Ethical Society of Police that addresses race-based discrimination and was formed in 1972. It places morality and doing what's right over blind loyalty and defending officers, no matter what. She says,
"Yes there is systemic racism. We stand on truth, what's right and what is just. When you do that, you have better relationships with your community. The union should lean to what's right, not what's wrong."

Levi's partnered with young leaders like Jaden Smith, Emma Chamberlain, Xiuhtezcatl, Marcus Rashford, Melati Wijsen, and Xiye Bastida. They want to bring change to the environment and help to decrease their ecological footprint.

HEALTH: Arnold's workout to stay fit while staying at home
Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote a Reddit post at the start of the pandemic after gyms closed. He said,
Even without a gym, we can also control our physical fitness during this pandemic. Bodyweight, or freehand, training is the oldest method in the world. Gladiators and Vikings didn’t have gymnasiums. I started my own fitness journey with chin-ups on a tree branch by a lake in Austria.
His workout program with photos covers all the muscle groups and should be done every second day. I don't think Arnold will mind if you do it when you can.

YOUTH: Greta Thunberg aims to inspire change with new docuseries (Video)
The “planet’s best-known climate activist” has a new three-episode docuseries called, “Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World.” It chronicles her year-long mission to save the world, meets scientists, academics, and noted conservationists, such as the ninety-four-year-old British filmmaker Sir David Attenborough. In this interview, she asks Attenborough for advice on how to get people -- old and young -- to take action. Attenborough tells Greta,
"My generation has made a mess of things. We have to make major changes to the way we live. That's why you've done such a lot. The big changes came when you spoke and that's brought hope."

This week marked some emotional milestones. Millions around the world celebrated with those who gathered at the George Floyd Square memorial site in Minneapolis on April 20 after a jury found former police officer Derek Chauvin guilty of George Floyd’s murder. The world watched the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic as India became the global hotspot with the world’s highest numbers of daily new infections totaling more than one million in the past 3 days. The good news is that Isreal for the first time in ten months recorded no new COVID-19 daily deaths. About 58% of Israelis and more than 5 million people have gotten both vaccination shots.
Writer Donna Ashworth from Scotland, penned a poem earlier in the year about the collective quiet felt by the lockdowns. The poem, entitled You’re Not Imagining It… went viral and can be found on her website. A passage is below.
Stay safe. Stay sane. Wear a mask.
